Thrift

Miss Seymour didn't own these earrings but I'm absolutely certain they would have been just her taste.

Inspired by Janelle, I thought I'd share my latest and most favourite Op Shop finds.

The ear rings I found someplace amongst a pile of other junky gems. These were the only ones I brought home with me, I must have known I would later find a dress to match.

Ive been searching high and low for a dress to wear to a wedding to no avail. I overlooked this one amongst the flotsam and jetsam in one op shop. My little sister fortunately had sharper eyes than I, and pulled it out for me. Sometimes little sisters are really useful. Im thinking of removing the sleeves and adjusting the collar-thing. Opinions anyone? Or should I leave the sleeves?

  1. Gorgeous earrings, and GORGEOUS dress, and it fits you beautifully. It looks nice with the sleeves but it would probably look more dressy without them.
Thankyou for your comment on my blog by the way, I am so glad to have found yours!

  2. Very classy, very top shelf choices here. I need to hire you as a shopper for moi. I neglect my appearance so much. Now, you just need a quaint little hat with some tulle and Audrey Hepburn (who was timeless in my opinion) you will be! I'm not sure about the sleeves. I wear my sons old shirts and jeans and shorts so I am not the one to ask. I have to go buy some nylons for a wedding Saturday myself (already got the outfit - some pants and a tunic that has gotten rave reviews from my family so far) and I cannot tell you the last time I wore stockings, or heals for that matter. You will be exquisite no matter sleeves or no sleeves because everything you do and see and tell and write is exquisite in my opinion.

  4. Wow, I love the colour of that dress! I think it would look a bit dressier without the sleeves, and then you could wear a cute little capelet with it :) Those earrings are such a perfect match!

  7. Just heavenly. The dress is so feminine and retro and the earrings will really jazz it up and my, will you be a vision to behold! Go ahead- take off those sleeves! I think it might make the dress a little more playful and youthful. Can't wait to see how it turns out. And it fits your figure *perfectly* - well done, sis!

  8. Sounds like the consensus is to go sleeveless. I will give it a go and hope it works...

  12. WOW ! those earrings are stunners and will look beautiful on you in this dress - with no sleeves. I'm with rest it is gorgeous as is but since I do believe you have "the" arms it would look much more glam & formal and spring/summerish. Please post photos of the whole ensemble. Love & hugs from far, far away. S & the Gang
